There are many ways the Portland Community Fund enhances the quality of life for all citizens, but we could not do any of it without your support.

Coat DriveThere are many ways you can help the Portland Community Fund and Portland Backpacks for Bellies. These two worthwhile organizations help families, children and local organizations in our community. Attending our fundraisers is a great way to give back to your community.

Our Big Events - 4 Ways to Make A Difference

Annual Coat Drive

Each year, in October, 100s of people receive coats on our distribution day. All of the coats not given out in Portland are sent to Ionia for distribution by the Department of Human Services. For more information see our Coat Drive page.

Christmas Giving Program

Our Christmas Giving program provides a dinner, socks, hats, gloves to individuals and families in the Portland Michigan School District. In addition children receive gifts and a shoe-box filled with goodies. Residents of local nursing homes receive personal care items.

Emergency Relief

When requested, assistance is provided to families in need due to fire or special circumstances. Funds are available for local emergencies.

Allocations & Grants

Part of the mission of the Portland Community Fund is to provide grants to nonprofit organizations that serve those who live in the Portland School District. This funding allows exceptional groups to continue providing much needed support to our neighbors.
